Hay cookies are a convenient way to give your small pet quality hay without covering your home in loose stalks and dust. Each cookie is a compressed portion of hay that keeps its smell and taste but is much easier for you to handle and portion out.

With loose hay, part of it inevitably ends up on the floor, next to the cage or behind furniture. Hay cookies keep the hay compact – you only take out as much as your pet needs at one time. That means less mess, less cleaning and less dust in the air.

One hay cookie weighs about 20 g. This makes planning portions simple – for example, four cookies are roughly 80 g of hay. You get a clearer picture of how much hay is actually eaten and can easily increase or decrease the amount when needed.

How much to give per day?
Hay should still be available freely at all times – hay cookies are a way to measure what you offer on top of that. As a practical example, a medium‑sized rabbit might eat around 60–100 g of hay a day, which is about three to five hay cookies, depending on the animal and other food.
Start with a smaller number of cookies and observe how quickly they are eaten and whether your pet maintains a healthy weight. Adjust the amount up or down and always keep fresh loose hay or a hay rack available.
